Realizing the necessity of rendering relief, rescue and
rehabilitation during natural or man-made disasters, Shrii

Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) in India and
speeded all over the world. It is also registered in Nepal
as charity no. 931/054-055 and dedicated the service
to the humanity of our planet. Since then it has been
working hard and has earned tremendous goodwill in the
society. It has been recognized as a unique disaster
relief agency in the world for its non-discriminating
approach to service of the people and its quick response
in organizing the relief operations in the farthest
corners of the world.
AMURT's social service programmes include: disaster
relief, free education, welfare project for the
rehabilitation of children and women, medical and health
care and long-term multi-purpose, self-sustainable
development projects.
AMURT
is a non-sectarian organization and does not discriminate
people on the grounds of gender, race, color, age,
religion or origin. During disaster AMURT renders
immediate medical care, food and clothing, rehabilitation
and long term development including shelter, education,
stress management, community services, etc. AMURT depends
primarily on voluntary help both full and part-time and
has a large volunteer base to draw. AMURT provides and
encourages disaster service training in collaboration with
other relief agencies. AMURT also provides long-term
development assistance and sustainable economic programs
to help underprivileged and disaster affected
people.
AMURT
is dedicated to improve the quality of life of the poor
and the underprivileged people of the world. To serve in
times of calamities and provide relief and rehabilitation
to the victims of natural and man-made disasters, is its
Pra'n'a Dharma (Credo).
AMURT
believes that the best assistance is to encourage and
enable people to restore faith in them and to help them
their lives in a better way. Hence, AMURT helps
individuals harness their innate potentialities and
utilize their own resources for securing the basic
necessities of life and gaining greater economic, social
and spiritual fulfillment.
